Robert F. Krueger, Ph.D. Psychology

Robert F. Krueger is a distinguished psychologist and Distinguished McKnight University Professor at the University of Minnesota. He received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin and his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

​

Renowned for his pioneering work in personality psychology, psychopathology, and behavior genetics, Dr. Krueger has significantly advanced the understanding of personality traits and mental health disorders. His founding of the Hierarchical Taxonomy of Psychopathology (HiTOP) has gained international recognition and is influencing contemporary research on diagnostic systems.

Dr. Krueger has been named among the top 100 most influential psychologists of all time and a Highly Cited Researcher by the Web of Science Group.

In addition to his research, Dr. Krueger is a dedicated educator and mentor. His accolades include the American Psychological Association's Distinguished Scientific Award for Early Career Contribution to Psychology and the Society of Clinical Psychology's Award for Distinguished Scientific Contributions to Clinical Psychology.
